Ormiston College has been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving global COVID-19 situation. Ormiston’s COVID-19 Response Committee meets regularly to assess all information provided by the Federal and State Governments for the benefit of our community.
We continue to work closely with both the State and Federal Education Ministers and consider the health advice of the Chief Medical Officer. That advice takes into account individual risk and the needs of the community. We are very aware that this is a unique and challenging situation for the whole community.
From Monday, 30 March the College will begin the transition to an online Learning from Home approach. This is the final week of Term 1.
However, not all students will actually be ‘Learning from Home’. While some families will choose to keep children at home to access and engage with the online learning materials, other families will send their children to school, where they will access the same online learning activities under the supervision of College staff.
This will be a good opportunity for students, parents and staff to experience operations in an online environment and iron out any initial bugs before Term 2.
We will continue in this mode from the commencement of Term 2 and be ready to operate completely off-campus if the College campus is closed at some stage in the future.
