The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS), takes place in over 20 countries, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa, Europe, America and Pacific countries. It is offered to both primary and secondary students.
The various competitions, held annually, provide students with the opportunity to compete against others of the same age from different countries throughout the world. The results also present teachers with a benchmark of overall student performance on a global basis in the various different subject areas.
This year over 980,000 entries were received but only 514 students from Australia were awarded Medals. We are very proud of our two high achievers, Riley O’Brien (Year 8) who received a Medal for achieving the highest score in his year level for the subject of Digital Technologies. Also Khaled Khan (Year 10) who received a Medal for achieving the highest score in his year level for Mathematics.
