One again, our students participated in the Brisbane Speech & Drama Eisteddfod at the end of August with outstanding results. Our competitors travelled from far and wide across Queensland to participate, and we are very proud to have been awarded an impressive haul of over 140 prizes, trophies, medals and bursaries.

Mary Poppins Launches in Style!

Sunday 10 February saw the launch of our 2019 Ormiston College Musical – the iconic Mary Poppins. Joining the cast for the first hour of rehearsals, were our dedicated parents, all keen to hear how the creative vision for the show will be realised. ​On Monday 18 February, the Drama Department hosted another Live Theatre Masterclass for interested secondary school students. After the success of the Masterclass with Mat Verevis, in 2018, I’m pleased to say a group of dedicated Performing Arts students presented either a polished monologue or song in order to receive feedback on their work.

This term students in private, paired and group tuition performed at the Wynnum Eisteddfod to compete against other students across Brisbane. The annual Eisteddfod marks one of the largest competitions of the year and the OC Drama students prevailed with some outstanding results.

OC leads the way at Trinity College London Speech and Drama Examinations

Over the Christmas holidays Isabelle Treasure from Year 6 received the very exciting news that she had received the 2015 Bronze Medal for highest Trinity College Examination results for a student completing a Grade 1 – 5 Trinity College Speech and Drama Examination.
