I had the pleasure of taking the 2010 graduates on a tour of the College before their Old Collegians function was held in the Hall of Fame two weeks ago.
It was lovely to hear the positive feedback on their OC experiences. It was also affirming to hear that they felt well prepared to go into a world beyond school after graduating.
They particularly spoke to me about the sense of belonging they had to the College through the friendships they had made during their time here and their involvement through the co-curricular programs. They also spoke about the great respect they had for their teachers and can now fully appreciate why we have the high standards, values and expectations that we have because out in the real world these personal qualities are highly valued.
Our OC values of compassion, integrity, respect, responsibility and service really should be integral to who we are and what we stand for as a College and as individuals.
Over the coming weeks I will be out and about across campus to assist in ensuring that our high standards, values and expectations are upheld. It is pleasing to note that the students have returned to the College this term well-presented and organised. Thank you for your support in this matter.
Please know that my door is always open and that you are welcome to make an appointment via the Office or email if you wish to make a time to see me.
I am looking forward to working with parents on our Strategic Planning and know that our next four years are going to be another exciting and successful phase of the College.
