The OC P&F Carnival on Saturday was a huge success and a truly wonderful celebration for the community. The rain was no barrier to the enjoyment experienced by so many who attended during the day.
The area around the Somerset Sports Centre was transformed into a hub of fun for children and parents alike. The rides and the House of Horrors were once again crowd favourites, as were the fireworks which closed the carnival for another year.
The younger children had a ball at the Junior Fun Zone, be it trying to Chuck A Chicken in the chicken coop, Pluck A Duck from the inflatable pool, test their skills at Bubble Soccer etc.
The Walk Down Memory Lane display which celebrated our 30th anniversary was also very popular. Students enjoyed finding, and laughing, at old photos of themselves.
When it was time to eat, hungry tummies were treated to a variety of culinary choices from our Eat Street and the Let Them Eat Cake cafe; the crowds enjoying their food while being entertained by the beautiful sounds of both students and staff on the outdoor stage and in the Hall of Fame.
We sincerely thank and congratulate our Carnival Coordinators Tanya Witham and Monique Wright; and MOCCHA group Coordinator Samantha Allen. With the support of an army of OC volunteers, together they have staged a very successful and memorable Carnival.
The opportunity to get together with friends and families, which the College Carnival provides, is priceless and really strengthens the bonds that unite OC.
